Big fan of this podcast. I’d been looking forward to this year – my all time favourite line-up – and it didn’t disappoint.
As a Brit, I can clear up the question about Helen Mirren’s acceptance speech. It’s an old-fashioned tradition in the UK at certain kinds of events (think high class weddings, military dinners, that sort of thing) for the host to give a toast to the monarch. They end by holding up their glass and say ‘ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Queen’ (or, I guess, ‘King’ now). That’s what Helen was referencing but I remember thinking it fell a bit flat with the non-UK audience. She might have been better off using the line at the BAFTAs!
    Keep up the good work.
