I love this lineup with the exception of Williams whose performance I indeed find “mannered” and grating. Thank you Kevin for praising Riseborough’s work in To Leslie. It’s a helluva performance and fully deserving of the nomination. In regards to the controversy surrounding her nomination I am sad that it has seemed to taint her reputation somewhat. It was a grassroots campaign that REALLY took off. Actors became passionate about her work once they saw To Leslie. Now, did some of them go to far in their zeal? No question. Frances Fisher imploring her fellow actors to put Riseborough’s name at #1 on their ballots certainly went a step too far. Still, Riseborough had nothing to do with this and her nomination should be celebrated not questioned.
